About EAR - Gasabo Diocese

Gasabo Diocese is one among 13th Dioceses of Anglican Church of Rwanda. It started in 2011 as new Diocese compared to the other Dioceses of Anglican Church of Rwanda. Gasabo Diocese is located in Gasabo district the biggest district among 4 containing Kigali City with an areas of 430.30 Km2 and Population of 634,807 (2020 census). Gasabo Diocese has 12 Parishes and 16 Local Churches and its Head office located in Kimironko Sector in Kibagabaga Cell with its Parishes and Local Church spread across Gasabo district’s sectors

As Gasabo Diocese is covering the biggest district of Kigali some of its Parishes are local in more rural areas while others are considered to be in Urban areas. Gasabo Diocese is addressing community problems such as Poverty, malnutrition among Children, Hygiene, family conflict, access to education and spiritual wholeness. Gasabo Diocese is addressing these problems through its programs such as Evangelism, Education and Health.

Mission

The mission of the Anglican Church of Rwanda – Gasabo Diocese are to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and teach the Word of God as revealed in the Holy Bible as well as to support initiatives of social and economic actions for the wellbeing of the community.

The Anglican Church Gasabo Diocese has to facilitate the underserved communities, and; to accelerate the sustainable social, political and economic development.

Objectives

  • To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and teach the word of God as revealed in the Holy Bible
  • To support initiatives of social and economic actions for the wellbeing of the people.
  • To raise up community awareness and advocacy for social and economic transformation
